Some real speed from Daytona
Impression Technology's newly released Daytona UV flatbed printer has speed at a winning price
The US manufactured Daytona T600UV has just launched in the Australian and new Zealand market with the all new advanced M.E.M.S printhead technology.
Based on a stationary vacuum table, the T600UV not only sets new standards in media versatility and image quality, but all at a price point making the T600UV available to all sign, print shops and manufacturers.
With a 1.52 x 1.22 metre print area, and a moving gantry over a stationary vacuum table design the T600UV offers a precise and versatile media handling solution for varied applications. Whether it be small tiles and labels or large heavy boards, precise dot registration and sharp text are all perfect for the T600UV.

First with M-Class Hex printhead module
The Daytona T600UV is the first wide commercially available format printer to implement the latest M-Class Hex printhead module based on MEMS printhead technology from FUJIFILM Dimatix. The advanced VersaDrop grey scale technology is capable of producing photographic images at true 1080 dpi. This is achieved by the VersaDrop's ability to deploy two pulse and three pulse burst mode firing which forms a bigger drop right at the nozzle plate, not during the drop flight as is the case with most grey scale print heads. This results is a satellite free spot.
Six print heads, each with 304 nozzles can be configured as CMYK and Lc, Lm or with white ink and varnish. And offering speeds of up to 22sqm/h, the Daytona T600UV establishes a new standard for a vacuum table UV printer.
Indoor and Outdoor Graphics
The Daytona T600UV is equally suitable for indoor and outdoor graphics. Utilising variable drop sizes at true 1080 dpi resolution and additional light cyan and light magenta colours to provide smooth mid tone gradations, the T600UV meets the photographic image quality requirements of most indoor graphics. Conversely, the UV curable inks offer excellent fade resistance for outdoor applications.
Stationary vacuum table
The great advantage of a stationary vacuum table is that it holds the media stationary while printing, thus enabling printing on substrates of practically any shape, size or weight. Two precision lead screws combined with 1-micron encoders maintain precise position of the gantry after each step, resulting in excellent dot placement accuracy and translating into sharp text and edges for printing vector art. Stationary table design also uses half the floor space of systems which feed the media through the printer.
UV Curable Inks
UV curable inks are environmentally friendly and offer the flexibility of being able to print on just about any flexible or rigid media. In general, UV systems require less maintenance and offer higher reliability due to the fact that these inks do not dry in the printheads and at the same time offer instant drying on the media by curing the ink with UV light. To accommodate a wide range of media, the printer is designed to accommodate media thickness of up to 5cm.
To maintain good print head nozzle reliability, even after extended idle time, the printer is designed with a simple but effective purge system. Printheads can be purged by simply entering the purge time on the operator console.
